How It Works

Synapsis IoT acts as the central data ingestion and orchestration layer of the Mative ecosystem, enabling seamless communication between edge devices, cloud infrastructure, and enterprise systems.

Device Connectivity and Data Ingestion​

The platform manages the connection of large fleets of heterogeneous devices:

  • Microcontrollers and embedded devices
  • Industrial machines and PLC systems
  • Telematics hardware and automotive systems
  • Third-party OEM devices

Devices communicate using standard and industrial protocols such as:

  • MQTT, HTTP/HTTPS, CoAP
  • TCP/UDP with TLS encryption
  • LPWAN technologies (including LoRaWAN)

Synapsis IoT exposes secure endpoints that allow devices to continuously send telemetry data to the platform at scale.

Data Normalization and Interoperability​

Incoming data is processed and standardized to ensure consistency across sources:

  • Decoding of industrial and automotive protocols
  • Transformation of proprietary payloads into unified formats
  • Semantic normalization of data fields

This enables interoperability between heterogeneous devices and ensures compatibility with downstream systems such as Mative Cloud and Synapsis Analysis.

Event Processing and Orchestration​

Synapsis IoT follows an event-driven architecture:

  • Real-time processing of telemetry streams
  • Event-based triggers and rule execution
  • Routing of data to appropriate services and pipelines

This allows the platform to react instantly to incoming data and orchestrate workflows across the ecosystem.

Bidirectional Communication​

In addition to data ingestion, the platform enables full device control:

  • Firmware and software updates (OTA/FOTA)
  • Device provisioning and lifecycle management
